Tina Turner, Jay-Z, Foo Fighters Among Those Inducted Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame by Kevin Rodriguez

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been the home of many legends in the music industry. From The Beatles to Chet Atkins, if you've made a significant impact in the world of rock music, then you better bet that you'll find yourself there among some if not all of rock's greatest acts. Throughout the years there have been some amazing additions to the hall of fame. With acts such as Queen, The Cars, Simon and Garfunkel, and Prince, it's no wonder that The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a personal Mecca to countless musicians and a tourist attraction to music fans around the world.

This year's graduating class of 2021 inductees include, Tina Turner, Todd Rundgren, Carole King, Jay-Z, The Go-Go's and Foo Fighters. Furthermore, LL Cool J, Billy Preston, and Randy Rhoads will receive the Musical Excellence Award while, Kraftwerk, Gil Scott-Heron and Charley Patton will be recipients of The Early Influence Award. A grand total of 16 artists were nominated for the class of 2021. In a statement Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation John Sykes said, "This diverse class of talented inductees reflects the Hall's ongoing commitment to honor artists whose music created the sound of youth culture."

With the inclusion of Turner, King, and The Go-Go's, this will mark the first time that multiple female performers are inducted to the Hall of Fame at the same time. More Importantly, they will be inducted into The Performer's category in a single class. That's is impressive in and of itself. This is the first time that something like this has happened.

The Go-Go's, Foo Fighters and Jay-Z are all first-time nominees (an act is eligible for induction 25 years after the release of its first commercial recording). While The Foo Fighters and Jay Z were nominated in their first year of eligibility, the Go-Go's have been eligible since 2006. Furthermore, this is Dave Grohl's second induction, having been inducted with Nirvana in 2014. King was also inducted in 1990 as a result of her songwriting with Gerry Goffin. Tina turner has also been inducted previously in 1991 as part of the musical duo Ike and Tina.

The induction ceremony is set to take place on Oct. 30, and will be broadcast on HBO.
